Free energy audits and grants of up to £1,000 available to businesses with an annual energy spend of £20,000-£50,000(including transport costs).
Research has identified a key gap in the delivery of advice and support to Small and Medium Sized Businesses (SMEs) in the South East with an energy spend of less than £50,000 per annum.
SMEs account for about 7% of total UK emissions but according to the Federation of Small Business, 40% of them have yet to take any action to increase their energy efficiency despite increasing energy costs.
A joint project between the East and West Sussex Sustainable Business Partnerships, funded by SEEDA, will provide free energy audits and grants of up to £1,000 to SMEs with an annual energy spend of £20,000-£50,000.
The funding will provide 100 energy audits on a first come first served basis. The site visit will take under 3 hours and will be followed by a brief report identifying key energy saving opportunities. Also available are 10 grants of up to £1,000 as match funding towards implementing energy effciency actions. These can be applied for by any business that receives an audit.
