JourneyOn, the council's campaign to encourage people to get fit, save money and help the environment by walking, cycling or using public transport,will be celebrating Car Free Day 2007 with 'Streets for People' an event on 23 September in the Lanes and New Road Brighton.
Car Free Day marks the end of European Mobility Week and to celebrate the Lanes and New Road in Brighton will transform into a traffic free, pedestrian- friendly space with live music, performance and activities for everyone to enjoy.
Activities will run from 12pm-5pm on Sunday 23rd September and will include a unique village green, a bandstand, a 'play street' with games for all ages, free travel clinic and bike maintenance sessions and much more.
So, why not leave your car behind and experience the delights of a car free city centre.
