The Brighton and Hove Hotels Association has identified a real demand for a Preferred Suppliers List which will shortly be available as a benefit to all BHHA members.
The idea for a Preferred Suppliers List stemmed from this year's AGM which was held at Brighton's Royal Pavilion. Once the AGM business was concluded, members had the opportunity to ask each other for help with any business issue or concern.
Some new owners present at the meeting were also new to Brighton and so this part of the evening was highly successful and gave birth to the idea of information sharing through a comprehensive list.
At a recent meeting of the Brighton and Hove Hotels Association, Mark McCullogh of Nineteen said: "We want this list to form a valued element of BHHA membership, to be used as a helpful tool on its own, as well as helping us all to network better and ask each other for help and advice – especially new members, and those who may be new to our business sector".
Mark is compiling a list for all sectors from laundry providers to window cleaners and is relying on BHHA members to help. He went on to explain that "The Association is not asking you to divulge all of your suppliers; only those in the general list of categories you would recommend to a friend. Nor do we need to know the confidential prices you agree with your suppliers, but do please tell us if you recommend a particular company because you believe they offer good value. Maybe you use a company because they are local, or because they have good experience of working with the hotel and guesthouse sector. Whatever your reason for using certain companies is your own business decision and we are not attempting to tell you who to use in this exercise. We just want to know who you think is good".
If you are a member of the Brighton and Hove Hotels Association and would like to contribute to this benefit, then please e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org. The first edition will be sent out to members once Mark has your feedback - deadline Friday 27 July 2007.
