Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership, East Sussex Economic Partnership and West Sussex Economic Partnership (The EPs) work together to present a joint response to government.
Producing the response provided an ideal opportunity for The EPs to demonstrate how important the issue of climate change is to businesses and the local economy as well as their commitment to working across county boundaries on issues of common concern.
The EPs warmly welcome the Climate Change Bill, the signal it sends that government are taking the issue seriously and the clear steer it provides, showing that action must be taken.
The response emphasises the need to provide businesses with clarity and some certainty as they decide how best to prepare for a low carbon economy and urges government to take a partnership approach to tackling climate change by marrying incentives for business with legislation.
