Stunning pampered pooches hit the catwalk on Saturday morning on George street, Hove. The paparazzi were out in droves to catch a glimpse of the glamorous models as they sashayed down the catwalk.
Local restaurant, Oblong and canine clothing retailer, Doggy Fashion joined forces to wow shoppers and visitors alike. With a red carpet straddling the street and hilarious commentary, it proved that business can do a lot to create a buzz and make the shopping experience even better for the public.
Although the sun wasn’t shining, it didn’t put off the crowds gathering to line the edges of the red carpet and cheer on the fashionistas. The hour long event was a huge success with the crowds. One onlooker said, ’This is fanstastic and has really made my day. This is just what Hove needs. More please!’ Another said,’What a fantastic surprise. I only popped out for a quick errand and have stayed all morning.’
The Brighton & Hove Business Forum is committed to working with local businesses to put on more events like this in the future. Gavin Stewart, Hove Town Centre Manager said, ‘This is exactly the sort of event that Hove needs, bringing in more shoppers and spreading the message that Hove is a great place to shop, eat in and visit. We need to think creatively about the events that we put on, we are always open to ideas. I would welcome businesses to come forward so that we can work together to animate the streets and help build up Hove as a place to go.’
If you would like a chat about any of your ideas, Gavin can be contacted on 01273 736909 or you can e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
