With UK Internet sales topping £100 billion since the first sale in 1995 the need for a strong web presence could not be more obvious. Traders in Brighton also have opportunities to link their sites to key retail associations and group sites that will enhance their exposure.
The recently launched Unique Brighton site for example offers an opportunity for every retailer in the BID area to link their site to what is already a fast growing site with links to visitbrighton (drawing 2 million visitors a year) and other trader association web sites such at the North Laine traders site.
There are 384 businesses in the Unique Brighton area but less than 100 of them have so far made the links.
To put the scale of Internet sales into some sort of perspective consider the fact that online sales for the month of April of £3.465bn were worth the same as the amount London’s West End banks in a year.
That’s a lot of money but we haven’t hit the ceiling yet. Online sales continue to grow at an annual rate of 32% and last month saw a year on year growth of 55%. The figures quoted above come from research conducted by Interactive Media in Retail Group (IMRG).
If you are in the Unique Brighton area and have not linked your web site to the official site please contact Emma Knott at Priory PR on 01273 207155 or firstname.lastname@example.org immediately.
