With some 20,000 visitors arriving for the Brighton & Hove Food and Drink Festival in September it would seem a missed opportunity not to publish the new Shopping & Eating Out Guide just a little earlier than usual. Preparations are therefore underway now for the 2007/8 edition which will be published in August.
This is great news for the many restaurants and cafes in the area as circulation of the Guide will increase by 15,000 to ensure that plenty of copies are distributed to local and visiting Food lovers during the festival month.
Retailers will not be missing out though as discussions are well underway to set up a home delivery service in the city centre to encourage customers to travel on public transport and have their purchases delivered directly to their homes for a small fee. This should ease parking problems, and benefit the shops and restaurants as well as their customers, and this facility will also be promoted heavily in the Guide.
Maddy Carr from the Business Forum will be working hard over the next couple of months to ensure all traders in the city have the opportunity to be featured in the 2007/8 edition.
Businesses advertising in this publication for the first time will receive a framed original watercolour painting of their shop to keep, and all businesses benefit from being highlighted in a location map and comprehensive index at the back of the Guide.
The watercolour pictures and neat design of the book make it the Guide Book to be seen with for visitors and locals alike.
