The Authentic French Market held on Hove Lawns at Easter proved popular to locals and visitors alike, and is now making a return visit over the May Bank Holiday.
Informal research at the Authentic French Easter Market indicated that the public liked outdoor events such as continental markets, providing entertainment for the whole family. In addition, markets in commercial streets are likely to attract further spending for the local traders, and increase business for the bars and restaurants in the area.
The Brighton & Hove Business Forum have been working with Brighton & Hove City Council and market organisers to attract more visitors to outdoor events and as a result there will be a French market on Hove Lawns (next to the Peace Statue) on Saturday and Sunday 26/27 May from 9.30am-4.30pm, and in George Street, Hove on Bank Holiday Monday 28 May from 10.00am-5.00pm.
Vehicular access will be prohibited in George Street on Bank Holiday Monday from 8.00am-6.00pm and traders in George Street will receive notification of the event.
