The Electoral Commission is an independent body established by the government to promote involvement in UK elections. In its list of councils that have local elections in 2007 it would appear to have moved Brighton & Hove into the West Midlands region which could take some people by surprise.
By the time you read this story the Electoral Commission may have spotted their mistake and rectified it so the .pdf below is a copy of their web page as viewed on 22nd December.
The Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership (BHEP) were going to make a grant claim to Advantage West Midlands – the Regional Development Agency – for expenses to move their offices to Birmingham. However, the Policy Team at Brighton & Hove Council, which originally spotted the glaring error, assured the BHEP that Brighton isn’t going anywhere!
We wish all our regular readers and occasional visitors to the site a very merrry Christmas!
