Local businessman Andrew Nichols was elected Chair of Hove Business Association at the AGM held on Wednesday 18 October at the Claremont House Hotel in Hove.
Andrew, who runs a successful bespoke kitchen company, has traded in Hove for over 25 years, and has been an active member of the Association for a number of years.
Asked about his visions for the future, Andrew said “I would like to see the Association build on its successes of the past few years. We have a talented and dedicated management team, and with the help and support of Gavin Stewart, the new Town Centre Manager for Hove, I am sure we can grow and influence the future of Hove as the place to do business.
Following the success of the Brighton Business Improvement District (BID), research has already started on a similar scheme for Hove, and together with the help and support of the Business Forum, we hope to see some positive results from this research in the spring of 2007.
We will continue to develop and enhance our new website and regular e-mailed newsletter, and our monthly drop in meetings have proved extremely successful.
We will be sponsoring an evening at the Sussex County Cricket Club on Tuesday 21 November, entitled “Selling online” with guest speaker Malcolm Duffitt from Dreamteam design. Invitations will be going out to members today, and I do hope that we will see many of you there.
With projects such as the re-development of the King Alfred site on the horizon it is now even more important that the local business community gets involved and has its say."
