The North Laine Traders Assocation (NLTA) held a full members meeting on Tuesday 12 September at the Foyer, in Pelham Street, Brighton.
Guest speakers at the meeting were Business Crime Reduction Manager Lisa Perretta, Dean Spears, principal Transport Planner for Brighton & Hove City Council, and Abby Hone, Walking and Cycling Officer.
BID Board representative for the North Laine, Andrew Fisher, described the selection process that had led to Blachere being awarded the Christmas Lights contract and showed artists impressions of the proposed display.
He provided an update from the Bid Board meeting on Friday 1 September, when the Priory Partnership were chosen to handle the PR for the BID area, and explained that the next stage will be to appoint a security company to meet the needs of the area identified by the BIDS questionnaires and other research.
Other topics discussed at the meeting included an update on the new website for the NLTA which will be launched on 5 October 2006, issues with containerised waste, and problems with car users in the part pedestrianised Sydney and Gardner Streets.
