The Brighton Music Network (BMN) held their monthly meeting at The Hope (formerly Polar Central) in Queens Road, Brighton on Wednesday 26 July at 6.30 pm.
A summary of the meeting is given below:
- Gig Poster Artists: guest speaker, Adrian Day
This is a fast-expanding British Rock Artist Collective which combines music and art and runs master classes in conjunction with exhibitions to promote the industry. They specialsie in promotional posters and printed T shirts. Contact Adrian by e-mail at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
- BMN workshops and training
Lisa Holloway (Chair of BMN) is inviting members of the local music industry to put their ideas forward for a series of financial seminars organised for the week of Brighton Live (see below).
- Brighton Live, Monday 25 – Saturday 30 September 2006
Brighton Live is now in its fourth year. This year’s event will be six days of free shows and events including lunchtime concerts, all ages shows, seminars and workshops. Approximately 250 bands and 20 venues have been signed up currently.
- Fort Rox - Saturday 12 August at Newhaven Fort from 12 noon - 6 pm
This is a mini music festival - tickets at £10 payable in advance, BMN members can buy tickets at just £5 and use the VIP area on the cliffs. For full programme see www.fortrox.co.uk.
