The Brighton BID Board met for the first time on 10 July. The Board worked long and hard into the night to establish the BID Company, agree Memos and Articles, establish a framework for administration and generally put wheels in motions. But the key challenge of the evening was to select a Christmas lights supplier.
Four companies (MK Illuminations, Piggotts, Millennium Quest and Blachere) had been previously briefed re budget and a requirement to create a spectacular display. Each company was given 20 minutes to present their ideas.
After much discussion, further meetings and consultation the Board agreed unanimously on Friday 14 July that Blachere offered the most exciting displays and promised sound reliable project management.
The Business Forum has already begun work on the Christmas lights project and is currently seeking permission from traders to put eyebolts on their buildings.
