A new post has become available at the City Council for an Energy & Water Manager.
The new role will be to deliver on the Council’s commitment of reducing carbon emissions from its varied building portfolio. Working in the Building Services team, to raise awareness of the importance of energy/water conservation and the sustainable use of these resources.
Acting as the lead officer for our participation in the Local Authorities Carbon Management Programme, the candidate will have technical knowledge and experience of applying the Carbon Trust’s five step process. Driving the Directorate’s Climate Change Action Plan Agenda and investigating the scope for using renewable energy sources, you’ll also provide technical support to in-house project teams in the identification and evaluation of carbon reduction projects.
The ideal candidate will be a full member of the CIBSE or similar, with several years’ post qualification experience at a senior level, work well under pressure and demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.
