The Brighton & Hove Business Awards will be presented on Thursday 7 September at the Hilton Brighton Metropole, designed to raise awareness and acknowledge those companies, organisations and individuals who are helping to put Brighton and Hove on the map.
The BAHBA's are now in their third year, and have built on the success of last year's awards by introducing four new categories:
- The Responsible Business Award - for companies demonstrating corporate social responsibility in the community
- The Business Growth Award - for commitment to excellence through continuing investment in developing sustainable growth
- Best Young Entrepreneur - for individuals aged 16-25 who have a vision to make their entrepreneurial business a reality
- Best Independent Retailer - for retailers demonstrating the highest standards and enhancing the Brighton shopping experience.
Sponsors for the new awards are Neilson Active Holidays, The Hub 100, University of Brighton, and The Argus, and full details of regular sponsors can be seen on the BAHBA website www.bahba.org.uk.
There are 13 categories in total including the Outstanding Brightonian, and companies can enter as many categories as they like (online or by post) and there is no charge for entries received by the closing date: 30 June 2006.
The judges are looking for companies or organisations which demonstrate the vibrancy and uniqueness of the city, and innovation and leadership are considered more important than size or revenue.
See the BAHBA website for full details of categories and how to enter (entries submitted after 30 June 2006 will be subject to a £25 administration fee). You can also book your place for the Awards on 7 September online, and full contact details are given below.
