Falmer Stadium decision in October – maybe.
Following a mistake in the original inquiry by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (ODPM) Lewes District Council (LDC) mounted a High Court challenge (see earlier stories). Despite hopes of a compromise, LDC have decided to push ahead with the challenge which is unlikely to reach the High Court until October at the earliest.
The CEO of Brighton & Hove Albion estimates that the delay is costing the club £20,000 a week in lost revenue.
The news has prompted the formation of a single issue political party – The Seagulls Party – to challenge the LDC leader Ann De Vechi at the elections in May 2007.
