d30 Lab (pronounced "dee-three-oh") produces a product that is truly revolutionary and unique. It started in owner Richard Palmer’s design studio in the Oxo Tower in London but when he was looking to relocate he chose Brighton & Hove.
d30 is a synthetic material that is soft enough to stitch together into garments but hardens instantly on impact offering the wearer some protection if he happens to be engaged in extreme sports.
Moving to the south coast was partly based on keeping overheads manageable but the exact choice of location according to Richard Palmer was because “We need people who are bright, adventurous and have a lot of energy. Generally this kind of person needs the kind of stimulating environment that a place like Brighton offers, to stay motivated”.
