SMEs still not switched on to the power of the Internet
According to a new survey one fifth of small businesses do not have a web site. This is despite the fact that 53% of consumers expect them to and would avoid doing business with a company that did not have a web presence.
The report from 1&1 Internet also shows that 85% of consumers are put off by poor quality sites. Whereas 20% of business do not believe that an inadequate web site will adversely affect sales.
It is time for small businesses to wake up and take note. It only takes a little bit of time and effort to get online. It is not only what customers want it is what they expect. How can it not be worth the effort?
