The Farmer’s Market will now become a regular feature in George Street, Hove. Starting on Saturday, 27 May, there will be a market every fourth Saturday of the month, running from 10am to 3pm.
The council has worked with the Brighton & Hove Food Partnership and the Common Cause Co-operative to develop this new market, which encourages small-scale, environmentally friendly producers.
Councillor Joyce Edmond-Smith, Convenor of the council’s Sustainability Commission, said, “ Everyone has put a great deal of work into developing this new market, particularly in liaison with George Street traders to ensure that the market complements their businesses in a positive way, which it does, drawing new customers to the street as well as regulars”.
The next market will take place on 24 June.
