The best building that wasn’t good enough
The Commission for Architecture and the Built Environment (CABE) has singled out the rejected Marina Tower as one of only four examples of best practise at an international exhibition in France. The Tower was rejected by Brighton & Hove planning committee.
Like the officers report that was presented to the planning committee CABE’s report heaped the highest praise on the Wilkinson Eyre designed development citing its architecture, setting, analysis, phasing, massing, scale and views.
The developers – Brunswick Group – are appealing the decision which is the first rejection from a planning committee that design team Wilkinson Eyre has ever had.
