Hate crime is on the increase and as it is becoming an issue of increasing concerning in today's society, the Brighton and Hove Community Safety Team are now inviting businesses in Brighton and Hove to a seminar entitled "Hate incidents & your business"
Paul Knight of Sussex Police says "A Hate Incident is subjecting people to harassment, victimisation, intimidation or abuse through racism, homophobia, transphobia, faith, sectarianism or disability. The seminar will focus on how this affects your business, staff and customers. Hate crime is increasingly becoming an issue in today’s society, not just in terms of global events but also laws, legislation and events here in the UK."
Topics covered at the seminar will include the following:
· What is a hate incident?
· Who can help?
· How does hate crime affect my business?
· What can my business do about it?
The seminar will be held at John Street Police Station, Brighton on Thursday 30th March and will run from 10:30am to 3pm including a buffet lunch.
This event is free to businesses in Brighton & Hove but places are limited to one representative per business.
