|Beware Festive Tidings|
Look out for emails expressing New Year Greetings
A new computer virus is on the loose. It appears as an email proffering a New Year Greeting. If you receive such an email do not open any attachments or click on any web links.
Microsoft has not yet developed a patch for this problem but Anti Virus Software suppliers are currently producing fixes, which should be installed as soon as they become available.
There is a flaw in the Windows XP 'image rendering' facility, which is mainly used by Windows "Picture and Fax Viewer", but is also used by the Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox web browsers to view Windows Meta Files (WMF). Malicious websites are using this flaw to get into peoples systems.
