Supporter of the £290m King Alfred redevelopment proposals have formed a group called Hove Up to counteract the negativity of residents groups that oppose the scheme.
Their aim is to counter the impression that the majority of people in the city are opposed to the project – an impression that is sustained by a concentrated letter writing campaign to the Argus.
Groups such as Save Hove, No Inappropriate Development and Heritage Over Vandalism have led a sustained attack on the plans but now an architect living in Hove has responded by starting a pro-support group.
Anyone interested in registering their support can contact Richard Coleman on 07770 608024 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
The Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership (BHEP) has been represented on the consultation panel for the project whcih was the main agenda item at last night's meeting of the Partnership held at City College. The BHEP will now be formulating a full response to the planning application.
