Brighton’s third Food and Drink Festival which runs throughout September was launched last night at an invitation-only VIP event hosted by the Alias Hotel Seattle at Brighton Marina.
200 top managers in the Sussex food and drink industry, Brighton & Hove civic and tourism leaders and festival supporters sampled some of the highlights of the festival, including a Sussex producers market, a cocktail shaking Battle of the Bars preview and a ‘fun with food’ practical cooking experience.
Festival Wines of Brighton sponsored the launch event, providing organic Festival Cava to welcome guests on arrival. A raffle prize of a food hamper full of Sussex produce was won by Thea Allison, Director of the Business Community Partnership.
Other major Festival events include a stunning Regency Banquet at the Royal Pavilion on 14 September, the popular Battle of the Bars final showdown at Komedia on 15 September and an extravagant Festival Market, ‘A Taste of Sussex’, on 10 and 11 September along New Road and in Brighton's Corn Exchange.
The market will be offering food-related fun events for the whole family and volunteers are urgently needed to help run a treasure hunt and other activities for the children. If you have a few hours to spare on Saturday 10 or Sunday 11 September please contact Oliver.Maxwell@bhbcp.org.uk or call 01273 770075.
