The annual search for the UK's most successful entrepreneurs is underway with the launch of the CBI/Real Business Growing Business Awards 2005. The Growing Business Awards are free to enter and open to any business that is independently owned, employs fewer than 500 people and is based in the UK.
Calling for entries to the Awards, Sir Digby Jones, CBI Director-General, said, "There are so many fantastic companies out there, developing as they create wealth and jobs for the country, but few ever get the public recognition they deserve. That is why the Growing Business Awards are so important. They celebrate the success of the best in business and I urge all those with a good story to tell to apply. It will be time well spent - the business success stories of today inevitably inspire the entrepreneurs of tomorrow."
There are 10 Awards to be won including the business community's most coveted titles of 'Entrepreneur of the Year' and 'Company of the Year'. Entrepreneur of the year was won in 2003 by Richard Branson and in 2004 by Philip Green so this year’s winners will be in good company.
The winners will be announced at a Gala Dinner being held at The London Hilton, Park Lane, on 30th November. The Rt. Hon Dr Gordon Brown MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer - the keynote speaker at last year's ceremony - describes the Growing Business Awards as "the premier showcase of enterprise in the UK".
The closing date for entries is 21st September. Entry forms and further details can be found at www.growingbusinessawards.co.uk or by calling 020 7368 7123 or sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
