Brighton & Hove City Council is investigating opportunities to improve the environment of New Road.
Their initial objective is to identify a design for New Road that will recognise, establish and re-enforce relationships between adjacent destinations, reduce barriers to free movement and create a high quality public space.
The council has appointed a project team led by Gehl Architects to design a world class scheme for New Road. It is their intention to combine the architects' experience with the knowledge of local stakeholders and interest groups to deliver an innovative design capable of accommodating the differing needs of various users.
Residents, businesses and stakeholders in the immediate vicinity of New Road have been invited to the first of four monthly workshops on 18th July but the local authority are also keen to hear from businesses and residents in the wider area.
If you have any ideas or concerns you would like to put forward for consideration, would like to attend the initial or future workshops or would simply like to find out more about the proposals contact Jim Mayor by phone (01273 294164), fax (01273 296808) or email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
