Woolards Field planning application
Woolards Field is a spit of land just off the Lewes Road but so desperate is Brighton & Hove for development space that it could be an important contribution to our future prosperity.
It is in the Brighton & Hove planning area but East Sussex County Council owns the land and they have just lodged an application for a 10,000 sq metre business park with just over 300 car parking spaces. If permission is granted, which is by no means a foregone conclusion, East Sussex would not develop the land but sell it on to a developer. It is a green field site so the application is likely to be controversial but its close proximity to the A27 and its location on the outskirts of the city would make it ideal for development. The Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership will be studying the planning application closely.
