Graffiti Clean Up Day Success
The graffiti clean up day organised by the City Centre Business Forum in conjunction with the Business Community Partnership (BCP) was a raging success.
Over 20 employees of EDF Energy (formerly Seeboard) took to the streets armed with graffiti buster boxes and set to work removing graffiti tags from shops and offices. When the tags had been removed the owners of the business were given a free graffiti-buster box to encourage them to keep the taggers at bay. At the end of the day Green Councillor Simon Williams presented the EDF Energy staff with certificates at Donatello restaurant in The Lanes to mark their contribution to the city. Local anti-graffiti company Aquarius Solutions based in Peacehaven donated their time to accompany the workers and keep them supplied with cleaning materials, safety equipment and invaluable advice. The day formed part of the city’s anti-graffiti strategy which in turn feeds into the Tourism Strategy. Both are available to download from the Crime Page and the Strategy page on this web site. A meeting of the anti-graffiti strategy group is scheduled for 24th November. For details contact Soozie Campbell on 01273 380040. Aquarius Solutions can be contacted directly on 01273 585850.
