The launch of the Tourism Strategy at the Grand Hotel on 8th September was very much a working affair with key members of the industry coming up with ideas to tackle Crime and Grime
The tourism strategy was developed jointly between the Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership and the City Council. At the launch, after a brief film showing the good side of our tourism product together with some of the problems that we still have to address, Chief Superintendent Paul Curtis of Sussex Police and Cllr. Gill Mitchell of Brighton & Hove Council outlined some of the issues that they face in the city.
Then participants were invited to break into groups and come up with imaginative solutions to fill the inevitable gaps in service provision in a city that receives 8 million visitors per year. The resulting ideas were wide ranging and some of them may not be practical but many were good topics for future exploration.
