Four invaluable half-day seminars are being held at the New Madeira Hotel to help business save money, increase efficiency and become more environmentally friendly. The course, Simple Utility Management Seminars, usually costs £200 but is provided free of charge if delegates attend all four classes.
The classes are being held on Tuesdays from 9am-12.30pm on the following dates: · 14 September · 8 September · 12 October · 26 October Joyce Edmond-Smith, lead sustainability councillor, said, “Tackling environmental issues is of great concern. There is little chance of making an impact if businesses aren’t involved. Training small companies to effectively manage their resources is an important step forward towards saving the earth.”
The seminars are a fun and practical way of learning how to manage resources. They include techniques for spotting improvements, practical exercises, case studies and expert presentations by businesses.
Previous delegates have saved £2000-3000 per year. This is equivalent to increasing sales by £20,000-30,000 for companies that have a 10% profit margin.
The seminars are provided by East Sussex BETRE project, which provides free advice, training and grants for waste, energy and water efficiency.
Over 600 businesses have signed up to the East Sussex BETRE project, 202 have been trained and cost savings of over £105,000 have been identified so far.
