A temporary facility is being established at Brighton Racecourse during the Labour Party conference in September
Additional Park and Ride is being provided from Saturday 25th September to Thursday 30th September. This coincides with the Labour Party Conference which is occurring in the Brighton Centre and it is intended that it will provide a useful service to visitors, commuters, shoppers or delegates who want to access the centre of the city and are having to drive here.
While all major car parks (except Russell Road Car Park) will remain open, a number of road closures and other restrictions around the conference site, including vehicle searches at the entrance to Churchill Car Park, may result in some delays. By using Park and Ride and taking the regular shuttle from the Racecourse to North Street, users will hopefully avoid any parking problems.
Details: Parking at the racecourse Saturday 25th – Thursday 30th September 7am-7pm (parking and buses) Up to 1500 car spaces (free parking) Toilets available at the racecourse Steward to direct vehicles at the racecourse Buses every 12 minutes from the racecourse and the top of North Street (for the return to the racecourse) Normal park and ride fare £2.50 return/adult (children under 16 with an accompanying adult free) Bus route is Raceourse – Freshfield Road – Edward Street – Old Steine – North Street – Queens Road – North Road – Edward Street – Freshfield Road – Racecourse.
