In partnership with Brighton & Hove council and the Brighton & Hove Regeneration Partnership, Moat Housing Group are providing 14 affordable homes to rent or buy in Pelham Court, Lewes Road, Brighton.
The homes will be available from September 2004.
Four of the apartments will be sold on a shared ownership basis (part buy/part rent), and the remaining 10 will be available to rent at a cost approximately 25% cheaper than market rent.
Prices for the shared ownership apartments start at £127,500 for a one-bedroom apartment and £165,000 for a two-bedroom apartment. Purchasers are offered 50% to 75% of the property equity and an affordable rent is payable on the remaining share. So to buy a 50% shared of a one bedroom apartment will cost £63,750 plus a monthly rent of approximately £172. Larger or smaller shares may be purchased according to individual circumstances. The shared ownership properties include oven, gas hob, fridge freezer and 10 year NHBC warranty.
To buy a 50% share of a one-bedroom apartment you will require an income of approximately £25,000.
The worker categories eligible for the scheme include local government workers, bus drivers, transport workers, NHS, education, police and others.
