A new database providing information on grants across Europe is to be launched in September - Grant Unification for Information and Dissemination in Europe (GUIDE). The site (www.grant-guide.com) allows users to access European grant information in six countries through a single multilingual source.
Currently, information is disseminated from public awarding bodies or national private organisations via various websites, CD-Roms and printed publications. As information is presented in a number of different languages it is difficult for European organisations to find their way through the dispersed information on public sector funding.
The eContent demonstration project GUIDE addresses this specific market niche in the public sector by linking its partners' very successful online grant databases into an online European grant funding database, accessible via the GUIDE website. The project brings together two private providers of grants consultancy, PNO Consultants and Econet and a publisher of digital content j4b plc. Together they possess grant information on Belgium, Netherlands (PNO), Spain, Austria (Econet), United Kingdom and Ireland (j4b).
The GUIDE website will not just improve access to public sector information, but will be a valuable resource for hundreds of thousands of business, from within and outside Europe seeking support to extend their businesses activities. The partners expect GUIDE to be a successful, commercially viable tool that will help increase the prosperity of the EU.
