Plans for a language school within the new station development have been approved by the city council. The school will be built at the northern end of the station car park.
Outline planning permission had already been granted and final approval has now been given for the design, external appearance and landscaping of the language school.
The design encompasses a five storey block at the southern end of the site, with the main entrance leading into a full height glazed atrium. This block would contain offices, teaching space, a library and an exam hall.
The northern part of the site would comprise of a four-storey accommodation block with 377 study bedrooms, a cafeteria, kitchens and a staff common room. A single storey block would link the two buildings and there will be five courtyards to provide students and staff with open space.
