New Brighton Pride Route

The Brighton Pride procession route has been changed to take in the city centre.

The event, which is estimated to attract up to 90,000 people, will take place on Saturday the 7th August and will start at Madeira Drive and proceed along the seafront to West Street/ Clock Tower/ North Street/ Old Steine/ London Rd and end in Preston Park. There is some concern in the business community that the route through the heart of the city centre will disrupt trade.

The Brighton & Hove Bus & Coach Company will not be running buses into the centre of town during the parade between the hours 10.00 am and 2.00 pm to avoid getting vehicles trapped in the inevitable congestion. Their exclusion zone boundaries will be from Palmeira Square, Seven Dials, Fiveways, Elm Grove and the Royal Sussex Hospital
