Council Vote Toad’s Hole Valley In
Despite clear concerns from the business community, at a meeting of the Policy Committee Brighton & Hove City Council voted in favour of recommending that Toad’s Hole Valley is included in the proposed South Downs National Park.
The Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership (BHEP) inspected the site from the air on 18th October and on the ground on 24th October and found that there had been no improvement in the quality of the landscape since Toad’s Hole was originally rejected by the local authority over a year ago. The BHEP has written to the Countryside Agency indicating that, in their view, it still does not merit inclusion.
