The future of Brighton’s football stadium is sealed
The enquiry into the planning application to put a community stadium on land in Falmer near the A27 ended on 23rd October and the inspector’s report is due to be published early in the new year.
The report will go to the Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott in January. The club are being cautiously optimistic. The final sticking point in the long and arduous process was over the proposed widening of Village Way which forms an access route to the University and the to the site for the stadium. The application was vigorously opposed by Lewes District Council and Falmer Parish Council and supported by Brighton & Hove Council.
