Parent Company of Brighton Buses Reaps Rewards of Congestion Charging
Go-Ahead Group, the parent company of the Brighton & Hove Bus & Coach Company , have seen profits from operations in the Capital rise to £26.5m from just under £18m in the previous year.
Most of Go-Ahead’s bus services are based in the south east where the pressure on the population to adopt sustainable means of transport grows greater by the day as the roads become more congested.
Go-Ahead also owns the two Brighton rail franshises – Thameslink and South Central – and more than half of their total operating turnover (£408m) came from these companies but only £25m of operating profit reflecting the tough trading conditions in the rail industry.
