Nightclubs Sign up to Business Forum’s Business Crime Reduction Partnership
The Secretary of the Brighton & Hove Licensees Association - Simon Woplin – today completed his membership forms for the BCRP which will give the Funky Buddah nightclub access to the benefits of the Crime Reduction Partnership including the radio net, photo sharing scheme and exclusion notice scheme.
The Brighton & Hove Licensees Association was established with the help of the Business Forum’s “Business in Regeneration” project managed by Soozie Campbell and it has already engaged with a wide variety of other stakeholders in the city. The extension of the Forum’s Business Crime Reduction Partnership into the night-time economy is seen as an important strand in the strategy to combat violent crime and anti-social behaviour in a public place. Eight nightclubs are in the process of joining and it is hoped that many more will see the benefits of being able to exchange information about potential troublemakers doing the rounds of the clubs and pubs in the city centre. Membership of the scheme opens the way for persistent troublemakers to be excluded from many venues and, ultimately, to be served with anti social behaviour orders (ASBOs). The photo sharing scheme can ensure that all nightclubs and pubs that join the BCRP will know the identity of persistent offenders.
