Jim Thompson Licence Extension Application

Seafront restaurant Jim Thompson's in the Aquarium Terraces has applied for an extension of its alcohol licence to 2.00 a.m.

But residents, police and some elements of the business community have objected to the application. The Police are reluctant to support opening any later than 11.00 p.m. at this site and the venue's current licence already allows them to serve alcohol until midnight.

A similar application from the 1000 capacity nightclub Po Na Na, which is close to Jim Thomson's was refused late in 2002 and is now awaiting appeal.
