Kent & Medway Economic Partnership (KMEB)
Kent and Medway is the largest sub-regional economic area in the South East. The aspiration of the South East region is to become a World Class region for business. Kent and Medway, being an area of considerable opportunity, will have an important contribution to make in achieving this goal.
It is an area of contrasts and challenges: areas of relative prosperity and by contrast areas of relative deprivation, rural communities in transition, development pressures in the Thames Gateway and notably at Ashford, and seaside towns seeking regeneration. This business plan reflects certain priorities that the Board established via the production of the KMEB Economic Framework in April 2002, and the developing rôle that the Board has in fulfilling its remit as a non-political public and private partnership seeking to support economic development in Kent and Medway.
