This inaugural event is a celebration of the first year of this community focused partnership to recognise and reward the people involved for their contribution and achievements in making the programme a success.
Throughout the year, individuals and communities across Sussex have been given the opportunity to get involved in a wide range of social inclusion, health, sport and educational initiatives carried out by AITC with the support of employees from American Express.
From business skills master classes in schools, fun days out for disabled young people, healthy living awareness activities through to sport focused team building days, the programme has brought together over 150 volunteers and hundreds of people who have benefited from the initiatives across the community.
Over 300 guests including local VIPs and football players will cheer on award winners at the ‘Oscars’ style ceremony. Master of Ceremonies, sixties football legend Ritchie Reynolds will announce winners in the following seven categories:
- Gully’s Special Achievement Award
- School’s Masterclass Innovation Award
- Sports Participation Award for Continual Support and Outstanding Contribution Award
- Community Health Squad Ambassador Award
- International Personality of the Year
- American Express Charitable Person of the Year
- American Express Community Volunteer of the Year
To help raise funds for AITC’s charitable projects, a raffle will be held on the evening. AITC is also offering local businesses the opportunity to become involved through a number of sponsorship packages including taking a table at the dinner and sponsorship of an award.
