Ride the Wave Event Chamber event: Going for Gold!

Date: 18 November 2010 - Time: 8.45am-1.30pm

The Going for Gold workshop brings together bid professionals on both sides of the buying process to help you go for and win competitive tenders. This half-day event, part of the Ride The Wave business support programme, will deliver practical and individual advice on finding opportunities and producing compelling bids, while understanding how local procurement professionals evaluate bids and what they want from prospective service providers.

Submitting a formal bid for a project or contract can be a time-consuming and costly affair, and yet it is increasingly the most common – often the only – route to securing work with larger organisations in the private and public sector.

That’s why it’s important for smaller businesses to have a bid strategy that targets the right bids, with the right approach, delivers the best bid submissions, and therefore has the highest chance of success. A low ‘win rate’ can be demoralising and expensive, but get it right more often than not, and your bid strategy will become a vital part of how you generate profitable work and build an impressive client base.

Going for Gold is a unique opportunity to learn, share and make new contacts in an informal and friendly workshop environment, and get valuable insight from a panel of experts.

Learn more about:

• finding local public and private sector opportunities

• current opportunities in Brighton & Hove and South East

• matching your business to local authority requirements

• getting onto preferred supplier lists

• building an effective bid team and writing winning bids

• improving your chances of being invited to tender

• collaborating to win bigger contracts

The event will be hosted by Chris Self of Gyoury Self Partnership and Chairman of Constructing Excellence, Sussex.

Refreshments and light lunch included.
