BrightBuild is the third in a series of design talks organised by the Brighton branch of the South Coast Design Forum.
This event focuses on architecture and features Paul Appleton BA DipArch RIBA Allies and Morrison Paul is a partner of Allies and Morrison. The practice was named Architect of the Year by leading practitioners Paul Appleton from Allies and Morrison and Ian Taylor from Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios. The talks will be introduced by Building Design in 2007, in a year which saw the opening of the transformed Royal Festival Hall which in 2008 was shortlisted for the Stirling Prize. Guest speaker will be Simon Fanshawe, writer, broadcaster and Chair of Sussex University and the Brighton & Hove Economic Partnership.
Paul regularly lectures on the work of the practice and is a member of the CABE design review panel. Ian Taylor BA (Cantab) DipArch RIBA Feilden Clegg Bradley Ian is a partner of Feilden Clegg Bradley. He has worked on eleven RIBA-award winning projects, two of which reached the Stirling Prize shortlist. He has recently completed student housing for Queen Mary University of London and the Northampton and Islington Academies. Current projects include One Brighton and work with and at the LSE and University of Southampton. He leads the FCBS Research and Innovation Group.
