The biggest shake up of the immigration system in years has begun with the introduction of the Points Based System. The new points based system will ensure only those with skills we need can work in Britain. It means new licenses are required for businesses that want to employ migrants, while those not obeying the rules risk large fines. Find out more about how this will impact on your business at this event organised by the UK Border Agency.
This event will highlight the local services available to support your business as the UK Border Agency introduces this initiative. They hope to explain, for companies employing foreign nationals from outside the EEA, the process for sponsor licensing, and will have a practical session on this and the responsibilities of a sponsor. There will be an opportunity to discuss the new criteria for bringing in skilled and temporary workers and a number of officials from the UK Border Agency will attend to take your questions on registration and other aspects of the Points Based System.
There will also be a facility available to allow you to register your interest as a sponsor on the day. This does not commit you to anything, but it will provide you with quick and simple access to the system.
To book your place on this event, please respond to UKBALondon&SERegionEvents1@homeoffice.gsi.gov.uk by 27th August 2008.
