Thanks to SEEDA grant funding, Ecosys Environmental Management & Education has helped 3 local hotels, one small, one medium and one large to become Water Efficiency Champions.
The organisation is now running a free event to share the practical, cost effective actions these hotels have taken, with other hotel and accommodation providers on Tuesday 27th March, 2007 at Deans Place Hotel, Alfriston (1.45pm-4.45p.m.).
The event covers:
- Practical water efficiency tips - find out how to make savings
- Case studies of local hotel water efficiency champions
- Suppliers of water efficient products - see them displayed in action
- Water resources & legislation
This event is free of charge but spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Bookings can be made using the attached form (click on the link below) or by telephone 01273 245587 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org. The closing date for bookings is Wednesday 14th March 2007.
Despite the recent rain, longer, dryer summers in the south of England are here to stay. Saving water both helps to protect the environment and saves money on water charges. Previous experience has shown that savings of 20-50% are achievable. A medium size hotel, with a water bill of £5,000 per annum. could save up to £2,500 - at a profit margin of 10% this equates to increasing annual turnover by £25,000. As water treatment is energy intensive, reducing water use also helps you do your bit towards combating climate change.
